It was my love of nature, mountains and stormy skies, which lead me to painting. Like many before me, I wanted to capture the emotions they evoked within me. At that time, I thought representational painting was the way to do this. Then I was introduced to abstract painting. It made the connection I needed.

If a painting connects with you, that is when you abstract the most from it. When you look at an abstract painting, you can see nothing, or you can see it all. It is either for you or it isn't. You see what you want. It is an emotional journey.

My aim is to draw the viewer into the painting, and create a feeling of intimacy. Emotions expressed through layers of paint.
